Curly Wurly Colors by BeybladerSteph-chan Curly Wurly Colors by BeybladerSteph-chan
I have no idea about the title.
but I LOVE THIS DOLL.
For one, I actually got some decent curls for my first try ;3;
I used a totally different palette that I thought was completely out of my league, and I even shaded a little more complexly everywhere!
I used at LEAST 5 colors for everything.
Infact, I know how many colors were used where @_@;
Hair-8
Shirt, Skirt-5
Skin-6
I don't really like her shirt much, But meh..
Eye and hair palettes are from [link]
^^
Some critique on her curls and maybe some shading tips would be appreciated. Nothing too harsh though, please ._.

Yay! Well, I love the shading technique, 'specially the hair part :aww: About the curls... since I've never really done curls myself, I don't think I can help you much there, but it does look like they're hanging on by a thread. Instead of making the curls shaped like "3"s, I'd make the middle loop in there more like a loop instead of a line.

Also, I'm not sure what kind of style you're going for with the hair, but it would be nice to shade her part a bit. The shirt does look all right shading wise, but for her chest area, make the cleavage line not as big; it should be more like a wavy line across the bottom of her chest. And, shading on the chest area shouldn't be underneath the chest, it should be ... oh, well, think of the pixel line that is her boob. Shade more on top of it with just a little below it for a better effect. And that way, if you wanted to go for a bigger highlight section, you could add it in without having two little dots of highlight for each breast. [not that you did.. different shading technique ;)] For the shading at the edge of her right [our right] breast, carry it out to the side of the shirt. It'll curve up if you just continue the line. Make a different line curving downward starting from what's already there, and you'll end up with a triange shape on the side of her shirt. The bottom of it would join with the dark shading you already have on the side, so the highlighted part would be moved to a more realistic place.

Wow. I think that's enough for now! Yay for shading under her skirt/sleeves/hairline! :D

Thank you! I don't know how to do curls yet, but I'm trying my best >w<; They're freakin hard D: I just wanted to try. I Think it'd look better if there were more of them there. XD
I'm so used to cleaning up my lines completely that I made it look like a little thread up there.
I'll definitely try to use your advice, thanks again! ^^

THAT'S GREAT ;w;
The hair looks absolutely fantastic.The end. :iconblushingplz: Absolutely incredible. My only critique is that the skirt needs more folds and shading, to make it look more skirt-ish c: It looks a little stiff.

OMG YOU SHOULD SHADE LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME.
It looks GREAT.
The hair especially! :D
Nice job!

I just tried curls like those recently, too. Haha.
I did them w/ pencil and paper, though.
I didn't know you meant lolita-style curls; they look awesome!

I have no idea what kinda curls I made. I Just know they're curls and I was happy. ;3; XD
Thanks! This style of shading takes me a while, but it pays off in the end.
If I'm not lazy all the time I'll shade this way. ^^;

They do look pretty sweet. :3

I know, if you think you have the patience for shading like that, I'd definitely say go for it on your dolls.
